Charitable Giving
Medical research at the Institute is paid for, in part, by grants from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and other agencies and foundations (Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, American Diabetes Foundation, American Heart Foundation, the Jewish Healthcare Foundation in Louisville, and the University of Louisville). However, these funds only cover part of the expense of clinical trials, and health insurance (including Medicare and Medicaid) often will not cover the cost of experimental therapies. To bridge this funding gap, and continue the progress toward a "cure" for many diseases, the Institute relies on generous donations from individuals, families, and charitable foundations.
You may give to the Institute for Cellular Therapeutics (ICT), to the University of Louisville, or directly to the research you are interested in helping fund:
- Leukemia
- Aplastic Anemia
- Heart Tolerance
- Kidney Tolerance
- Kidney/Islet Tolerance
- Sickle Cell Disease
- Diabetes
- Multiple Sclerosis
- Non-Malignant Disorders
- Basic Science Research
